For Illustration Friday; Prompt is "Whisper."

watercolor on 140lb cold press.

I have been drawing and painting cardinals in general, trying for a different but similar pose to this one. When the topic of Whisper popped up, I thought I could adapt my previous idea to fit. I consider this wash an incomplete stage, but I pretty much ruined the paper when I tried to paint in a background. Fortunately, I had already scanned, so I have this digital copy.

What Am I?     Lingering in that photo...

In that simple shot (still, I feel the bullet there)
I look, and I see a woman.

to wake, feel the calling..(oh, it calls, but I do not answer)

of my childhood and

HelicaseHelio and I were always sitting on the stairs, chatting about the lamina and occasionally making snide remarks about ribosomes. There wasn't much for us to do. Our job was to simply be, and let the RNA scribble down the letters on our foreheads when they came around every once in a while. Helio was a G, I was a C. It wasn't exactly fulfilling, I suppose.
